MY RESEARCH
I am an environmental-urban economist. I have worked on topics related to air quality, climate change, land use, transportation, waste management, water, biodiversity conservation, among others.
I have taught in private and public universities in Mexico and the USA. The research teams I led have been involved in different stages of policy implementation of economic instruments oriented to energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation.
I have published several articles on the topics of environmental taxes, conservation of vaquita marina, globalization and emissions, and incentives to promote the use of bike to commute.
Previously, I have done research in the areas of green taxes, incentives for conservation and decoupling subsidies.
When teaching environmental economics, I entice discussions on different topics. To ignite the conversation, I use podcasts from Planet Money, Resources for the Future, the World Bank, and others. However, when my audience speaks Spanish, there are no podcasts available. This podcast is intended to inform listeners about important issues related to energy or the environment. I invite experts on different topics, and we have candid conversations.
